Focal 300 ICW8 8'' In-Ceiling Speakers

The Focal 300 ICW8 In-Ceiling/Wall Speaker incorporates an 8" (210mm) flax mid/bass driver and is designed specifically for faithful audio reproduction whether they are used for stereo music or home cinema.

High Sensitivity

Designed to deliver the most faithful sound reproduction, ICW8 are discreet loudspeakers which blend in perfectly with your walls and ceiling. This 2-way coaxial loudspeaker is composed of an 8" (21cm) woofer with a Flax cone and an aluminium/magnesium alloy inverted dome tweeter. The 8" woofer features Focal’s exclusive Flax technology, which rivals with the famous W cones used in the Utopia, Sopra and Electra lines.

Rigid and very light, these special cones produce a sound which is natural and extremely precise. The tweeter is adjustable and rotatable, so the treble can be adjusted according to the room’s acoustics. Its high sensitivity makes it capable of producing a powerful sound of up to 90dB.

Neutral & Defined

Focal’s exclusive Flax technology, based on a flax-based eco-textile, is worthy of the famous W cones used in the Utopia, Sopra and Electra lines. The rigidity and lightness of these cones provide a sound with remarkable neutrality and definition. With two adjustable settings, the tweeter perfectly adjusts to the room’s acoustics.

ICW8 incorporates Flax sandwich technology due to its astounding structural properties: it is light, rigid and well-damped providing greater neutrality of the timbre and better definition. The TNV2 Tweeter uses Focal’s exclusive inverted dome technology, allowing for optimal energy transfer and limited directivity.

Easy to Assemble

ICW8 is composed of a mounting frame and a loudspeaker. The mounting frame is fixed to the wall or ceiling using mounting brackets which can be manipulated single-handedly. Once the frame has been fixed securely in place, the loudspeaker can be quickly assembled to the mounting frame thanks to a quarter-turn locking mechanism.

The magnetic grilles supplied are perfect for quick and easy assembly. In terms of design, all models in the 300 Series come with two types of grilles: a square grille and a circular one, to ensure they blend in perfectly with your interior. The grilles are frameless making them even more discreet and elegant.

EQI Mechanism

On top of quality sound, Focal focuses on two new qualities required by built-in loudspeakers: a discreet design and ease of installation. Assembling the products in this line has never been easier. EQI means installation time is kept to a minimum and you can install the products without the need for any tools.

Unobtrusive Design

ICW8 is suitable for both in-wall and in-ceiling installation making it extremely versatile and ideal for hi-fi systems, home cinema systems or to complement classic hi-fi systems, in particular, loudspeakers from the Aria 900 line.

For the finest audio systems, ICW6 is perfectly adapted for Dolby Atmos technology for total 3D immersion. Optional installation kits are available, particularly to facilitate installation in new environments.
