Monitor Audio SB-4 Soundbar & IA40-3 Amplifier

This package consists of a Monitor Audio SB-4 passive soundbar and IA40-3 3-channel Bluetooth amplifier.

The SB-4 soundbar features three separate driver arrays for left, centre, right channels in a single cabinet, and is visually compatible with TVs over 70" (please see soundbar size recommendations below). Paired with the ultra-compact IA40-3 amplifier, it makes the perfect high quality 3.0 TV audio system, or add a subwoofer for dynamic 3.1 sound. Plus connect any device via Bluetooth for easy music streaming.

Monitor Audio passive soundbars are available in three sizes depending on the size of your TV. For the best audio experience it is recommended to match the speaker width to your TV as follows:

50" - 60" TV: SB-2 (1107mm wide)
60" - 70" TV: SB-3 (1307mm wide)
70"+ TV: SB-4 (1562mm wide)

The soundbar can be mounted on a cabinet or shelf, or wall mounted with the optional wall mount bracket (please select bracket option if required).

SB-4 Soundbar

The SB-4 passive soundbar is designed to provide a visually balanced audio solution for 70 inch screens and larger. This stylish, high performance, passive soundbar is ideal for installers keen to deliver premium performance in media room applications, and features three separate driver arrays for left, centre, right channels in a single cabinet.

The SB-4 incorporates a series of clever technical features and design innovations which demonstrate Monitor Audio’s revered attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ease of installation is another key advantage of the SB-4. High quality, low profile binding posts provide an easy and trouble free connection, with the terminals recessed neatly to enable a flush to wall installation. The terminal panel also houses standard fixing points compatible with SANUS TV mounts, with many options for TV and wall installation. Wall mounting is also possible using Monitor Audio’s low-profile wall mount bracket with cable access, easy pre-alignment and fixing template.

The SB-4 is designed to be used with a partnering sub-woofer and crossed over to provide the best possible experience and increased system power handling. Alternatively, the soundbar can be used independently to deliver an impressive uplift in TV audio performance with only a slightly reduced power handling.

IA40-3 Bluetooth Amplifier

The discreet IA40-3 is a highly versatile amplifier featuring digital, analogue and Bluetooth® inputs. Designed for easy installation, the bespoke fixings allow it to be positioned in multiple locations: on a wall, cabinet, stand or behind a television.

Ideal for smaller environments, the IA40-3 Installation Amplifier will perfectly power in-ceiling speakers in a kitchen, loft room or bedroom. It also works beautifully when paired with Monitor Audio smaller bookshelf speakers in a bedroom, study or sitting room.

Best of all, if there is a television in the setup, the IA40-3 can be mounted behind the screen – using the supplied bespoke bracket – to drive a Monitor Audio Passive Soundbar. (The customisable brackets can be bent to fit and have flexible break-off sections for maximum installation versatility.)

With 40 W of power over three channels at 4 ohms, or 60 W over two channels, the IA40-3 will drive speakers or passive soundbars to deliver a lively and precise sound.

If extra bass is required, an active subwoofer can be connected to the IA40-3 via the sub/line out. Whatever the audio source, this is an amplifier with all the right connections. The IA40-3 features optical and analogue inputs and the latest Bluetooth® wireless technology, powered by Qualcomm® aptXTM Audio, to allow easy and superior pairing with mobile devices. The IA40-3 has been designed to be discreetly tucked away and its unique heatsink fin allows cooling in the tightest of spaces.
